Job Summary

 

This position is responsible for leading and directing the Facilities Management functions for a multi-campus college; including Real Estate, Design and Construction, Central Receiving and Distribution, Maintenance and Operations, Custodial Services, Fleet Management and Landscape and Grounds Maintenance.

 

Responsibilities

 

• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's missions, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies

 

• Provides leadership to multiple departments through mid-level supervisors

 

• Supervises maintenance personnel in the completion of day-to-day maintenance activities and prioritizes and monitors work activities at all locations/sites

 

• Provides electrical and engineering support for campus/instructional site building projects and repairs, troubleshoots and resolves electrical, HVAC, plumbing and other issues

 

• Responsible for the development of prioritized lists of major and minor repair and renovation needs; to include written specifications, scope of work, and drawings; schedules and holds pre-bid meetings; awards contracts; and manages projects and supervises the work of contractors

 

• Develops departmental priorities to support the mission of the college

 

• Develops and maintains department budgets, capital budgets, and MRR budgets

 

• Manages campus/sites utilities; analyzes usage and expenditures; and reviews and processes invoices

 

• Manages custodial services and monitors the cleanliness of buildings and spot -checks supply inventories

 

• Directs the maintenance of campus grounds; monitors cleanliness of grounds and height of grass; and inspects natural areas and flower beds

 

• Maintains employee attendance records and reviews and approves payroll reports

 

• Meets with prospective vendors, architects and consultants

 

• Ensures facility inventory reports are correct and updated as required

 

• Collects and analyzes data needed for space assignment and campus/site planning

 

• Prepares and analyzes campus/site requests for space modifications and/or changes in use

 

• Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Qualifications

 

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field

 

• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department in order to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require three (3) to five (5) years of related experience

 

• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

 

Proposed Salary

 

This is a full time, fully benefitted staff position.

 

Salary: $99,000
