Job Summary

The Nursing Academic Success Coach will provide personalized guidance and support tailored to the student's individual needs and assist the student to navigate academic challenges and develop effective study strategies.

Note: This is a grant funded position and is dependent upon grant funding to remain an active position.

Responsibilities

Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.

Individualized Coaching

• Provide one-on-one coaching sessions with nursing students to assess their academic needs, set goals, and develop personalized success plans.

• Collaborate with students to identify strengths and areas for improvement, offering guidance on study techniques, time management, and test-taking strategies.

• Provide weekly time in the campus lab to assist students with skills practice and remediation.

Academic Resource Navigation

• Assist students in navigating academic resources, including online platforms, libraries, and research databases.

• Guide on accessing supplementary learning materials and support services relevant to nursing education.

Progress Monitoring

• Collaborate with faculty to regularly monitor students' academic progress and performance, identifying early signs of challenges or obstacles.

• Skill Development Workshops: Organize and conduct monthly workshops on study skills, time management, effective communication, and stress management tailored to the needs of nursing students.

Data Analysis and Reporting

• Utilize data analytics tools to assess the effectiveness of academic support initiatives and make data-driven recommendations for improvement to the faculty.

• Prepare regular reports on student success metrics, identifying trends and areas for enhancement.

Professional Development

• Stay current with developments in nursing education, instructional methodologies, and academic support strategies.

• Engage in continuous professional development to enhance coaching skills and knowledge of best practices.

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in nursing

• Previous experience in academic coaching, student advising, or related roles.

Proposed Salary

$55,000 annually

• Strong understanding of nursing education, curriculum, and academic challenges faced by students

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Ability to guide and support students to navigate academic challenges, etc.

• Ability to work collaboratively with students, faculty, and administrative staff

• Familiarity with data analytics and proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools
