Job Summary
The College and Community Engagement Managers support Georgia Highlands College's mission and strategic vision by serving as a key liaison between the assigned GHC location and the local community. This role focuses on fostering relationships, promoting the college's programs, supporting regional operations, and coordinating events and initiatives that enhance engagement, student success, and institutional growth. The College and Community Engagement Managers work closely with the Director of College and Community Engagement and internal stakeholders to strengthen the college's visibility and partnerships in the community.
This position is located at our Rome/Floyd Campus.
Responsibilities
• Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies.
Facility Coordination
• Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operations at the assigned location, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Collaborate with facilities and security teams to address maintenance, repairs, and accessibility needs at the assigned GHC location.
• Facilitate the use of college facilities by coordinating room assignments and event spaces with facilities.
• Conduct regular assessments to ensure the location is functional and meets institutional standards.
Community Engagement
• Represent the college at community events, meetings, and forums, serving as an advocate for its programs and initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to create partnerships that benefit the college and community.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders to support recruitment efforts, resource sharing, and shared initiatives.
• Actively promote the college's mission and offerings to enhance regional visibility and impact.
Event Support and Coordination
• Assist in planning and executing events at the assigned location, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
• Work with internal teams to coordinate logistical needs, such as AV, IT, catering, and facilities support.
• Support external organizations using college spaces to ensure positive experiences and promote future partnerships.
• Partner with the Director of College and Community Engagement to develop signature events that showcase the college's impact.
Student and Institutional Support
• Collaborate with academic and student services teams to foster a supportive and engaging environment for students.
• Participate in recruitment and retention initiatives, including outreach to prospective students and support for student organizations.
• Act as a resource for faculty, staff, and students to ensure effective communication and access to college services.
• Support institutional projects and initiatives as directed by the Director of College and Community Engagement.
• This position will supervise student assistants and will work to develop unity among all GHC locations.
The College and Community Engagement Director will supervise this position. Supervisor will assign work in terms of broad goals and objectives and reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of activities.
Required Qualifications
• Knowledge and level of competency are commonly associated with the completion of a bachelor's degree in a course of study related to the occupational field.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills with a proven ability to build relationships and manage complex projects.
• Demonstrated success in budget management, event planning, and staff supervision.
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle or equipment operated
Master's Degree Preferred
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience sufficient to thoroughly understand the diverse objectives and functions of the subunits in the division/department to direct and coordinate work within the division/department, usually interpreted to require one (1) to three (3) years of related experience.
Proposed Salary
The annual salary for this position is $50,000 - $55,000

Facility Coordination
• Serve as the primary point of contact for daily operations at the assigned location, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
• Collaborate with facilities and security teams to address maintenance, repairs, and accessibility needs at the assigned GHC location.
• Facilitate the use of college facilities by coordinating room assignments and event spaces with facilities.
• Conduct regular assessments to ensure the location is functional and meets institutional standards.
Community Engagement
• Represent the college at community events, meetings, and forums, serving as an advocate for its programs and initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with local leaders, schools, businesses, and nonprofit organizations to create partnerships that benefit the college and community.
• Collaborate with community stakeholders to support recruitment efforts, resource sharing, and shared initiatives.
• Actively promote the college's mission and offerings to enhance regional visibility and impact.
Event Support and Coordination
• Assist in planning and executing events at the assigned location, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
• Work with internal teams to coordinate logistical needs, such as AV, IT, catering, and facilities support.
• Support external organizations using college spaces to ensure positive experiences and promote future partnerships.
• Partner with the Director of College and Community Engagement to develop signature events that showcase the college's impact.
Student and Institutional Support
• Collaborate with academic and student services teams to foster a supportive and engaging environment for students.
• Participate in recruitment and retention initiatives, including outreach to prospective students and support for student organizations.
• Act as a resource for faculty, staff, and students to ensure effective communication and access to college services.
• Support institutional projects and initiatives as directed by the Director of College and Community Engagement.
• This position will supervise student assistants and will work to develop unity among all GHC locations.
The College and Community Engagement Director will supervise this position. Supervisor will assign work in terms of broad goals and objectives and reviews work through conferences, reports, and observation of activities.
