September First Friday in Downtown Cartersville
Kid’s activities, farmers market vendors, and free concert

CARTERSVILLE – The Cartersville Downtown Development Authority invites you to the September First Friday event, “Buy Fresh, Buy Local.” Sponsored by Cartersville Medical Center, the event will take place on Friday, September 5th, at Friendship Plaza in historic downtown Cartersville.

This completely FREE event will start at 5pm with a few kid’s activities including coloring fun and sidewalk chalk. Free lemonade, courtesy of Chick Fil A, will be available near the kid’s area in Friendship Plaza. Also, vendors of the Cartersville Farmer’s Market will be set up in front of various local downtown businesses from 5-8pm. Musical entertainment will be provided by Rolling Nowhere who will be playing from 7-9pm in Friendship Plaza. As the band’s website states, “Rolling Nowhere has been described as a Psychedelic Junkyard Roots band with a sound that evolves with every show. Their sound combines Classic Country, Old Timey Folk, Blues Roots and Psychedelic Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Local farmers from the Cartersville Farmer’s Market will be set up at this event, vending everything from fruits and vegetables to jams and jellies to arts and crafts. Several members of the Booth Photography Guild, as well as other local artists, will also be set up around downtown. “This is such a great opportunity to support our local farmers and artists,” says Special Events Coordinator Hollie Duncan. Before checking them out, make sure to stop by a few of our Downtown shops and restaurants that will be open until 8pm or later.

“There is no cost for this fun event, and it is a wonderful opportunity to get out of the house with your family and enjoy your Friday evening in Downtown Cartersville shopping, dining, playing, and listening to great music,” continued Duncan.
