July 15, 2014 (Atlanta) — Pain Solutions Treatment Centers physician Drs. Michael K. Schaufele was named to the 2014 list of Top Doctors in the July issue of Atlanta magazine.

The Top Doctors listing is compiled annually by Castle Connolly Medical Ltd. — an established healthcare research company based in New York City compiles Atlanta magazine’s list of Top Doctors annually. Doctors are nominated for consideration through both a nationwide survey and a peer nomination process open to licensed physicians in DeKalb, Fulton, Cobb, Clayton, and Gwinnett counties. Castle Connolly’s physician-led team of researchers then select the Top Doctors through a rigorous screening process that includes an evaluation of educational and professional experience.

Dr. Schaufele said he is thankful to receive this recognition. “It’s a true honor to have my work recognized by my medical peers alongside my esteemed colleague and many other great physicians in such a prestigious listing,” Dr. Schaufele said.

Dr. Michael K. Schaufele is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, as well as pain medicine. He received his medical degree from the University of Frankfurt Medical School in Frankfurt, Germany. He completed his physical medicine and rehabilitation residency at Harvard Medical School in Boston, Massachusetts, followed by a fellowship in spine care and interventional pain management at the Spine Center Munich Harlaching in Munich, Germany. After his training, Dr. Schaufele joined the Emory Spine Center, where he practiced as an Associate Professor for more than a decade. He joined Pain Solutions Treatment Centers in 2012. This is Dr. Schaufele’s third consecutive Top Doctor honor.
