MARCH OF DIMES RADIOTHON, PURPLE BUCKET FUNDRAISER SET FOR #GIVINGTUESDAY

Cartersville, GA; November 24, 2015:  Community volunteers will be up early Tuesday, December 1st representing the March of Dimes and participating in #GivingTuesday with a Radiothon and Purple Bucket Fundraiser.

Prematurity is the #1 killer of babies in the United States. The March of Dimes is working to change that statistic and help more moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies. From polio to prematurity the March of Dimes has focused on researching the problems that threaten children and finding ways to prevent them.  Fundraising activities like #GivingTuesday help support lifesaving research for babies.

#GivingTuesday — which follows Black Friday and Cyber Monday — is a global philanthropic day designated for charitable giving.  WBHF AM 1450/100.3 FM is hosting a radiothon to benefit March of Dimes from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Tuesday.  Telephone and in-person pledges will be accepted. And, as an added incentive, an anonymous donor has pledged to match all donations up to $1,000!

From 8 until 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 until 4 p.m., March of Dimes volunteers will be stationed at the corner of Church and Erwin Streets collecting donations in purple buckets.  The first 100 donors will receive a famous Agan’s Bakery cookie!
