The Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce is hoping that if they build it, you will come – to the “Team Bartow Village” at 2013 Atlanta Steeple Chase, that is. On Saturday, April 13th, Bartow County promises to burst out of the gate, go the distance, and finish first in an effort show what our community is capable of when it comes together.

Enter…Team Bartow Village: Gateway to the Chase!
Team Bartow Village sits on prime real estate located between turns two and three along the back stretch of Kinston Downs. The crown jewels in Team Bartow’s village will be three double-spired 20’ X 40’ “Team Bartow” tents sponsored by the Cartersville-Bartow County Chamber of Commerce that will include visual displays tracing the history of the Steeple Chase as well as chronologing Bartow County’s past. The Booth Western Art Museum & Tellus Science Museum, both world-class and inclusive under Team Bartow’s tent, will feature interactive displays to delight visitors. In addition, Bartow’s “Taste of the Chase” food court will feature cuisine from eating establishments around the County. Flanking the main tent will be private corporate tents where businesses will entertain prospective clients and show gratitude for loyal customers. Team Bartow Tent is open to the general public and family friendly.

The advantage?
Never before has an organization been pro-active in showcasing the entities it serves at this venue. Economically, the Chamber stands firmly behind uniting and promoting the businesses and local attractions in the community and helping ring their cash registers. Logistically, the naturally occurring cresting hillside provides unobscured visibility around the mile and a half oval highlighted by three jumps in front of Bartow’s terrace. Team Bartow also has room for growth, as the Chamber has reserved additional property that extends the “Village” towards the bend in turn two.

So who’s coming?
In its inaugural campaign, Team Bartow sold out all slots for private tents and cemented commitments from LakePoint Sports Complex, Convention and Visitors Bureau, Translux, Northside Bank, Johnny on the Spot, and six other private corporate tents! Team Bartow will also have local cinematographers and media on hand to archive the event for future promotions via streaming video and DVDs.

But how will they get there?
Two “people mover” shuttles (trams) will ferry guests to and from the infield to Team Bartow Village

Leading up to the Steeple Chase?
On Saturday, April 6th, Terry Reid Equus is hosting the only Official Steeple Chase pre-party that will include a fashion show by local merchants. Knight’s 1889 has committed to a Steeple Chase pre-party on the eve of the event.

Need something to do afterwards?
Commemorating Johnny on the Spot’s 25 years in business, Famed Southern rock band the “Atlanta Rhythm Section” will play a concert for ALL guests in the “Village” immediately following the last race! Later on…The City Cellar and Loft will host a post-event “after party” with entertainment, drink specials, and, of course, their world famous shrimp and grits.

Admission to the “Chase” is $35. Tickets/parking passes are available at: the Chamber, Northside Bank branches, Terry Reid Automotive Group, and West End Commons. Children under 12 are admitted free. So on Saturday, April 13th, hold onto your reigns, because Bartow will be back in the Chase! It’s going to be WIN, PLACE, & SHOW for Team Bartow!
