Century Bank Entertainment Series at The Grand Theatre Lineup Announcement.

The Grand Theatre is pleased to announce this year’s Century Bank Entertainment Series at The Grand Theatre events. Season tickets and individual event tickets are on sale now at The Grand Theatre Ticket Office in downtown Cartersville, and selected seats for individual events are available online at www.thegrandtheatre.org.

The series kicks off on Saturday, November 8th with Katie Deal in Today, Tomorrow & Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline. Having sold out two national tours of A Closer Walk with Patsy Cline, Katie takes the stage with her own story of how the music and style of Patsy Cline have changed her life forever. With a new take on nostalgia, Katie's one-woman show, Katie Deal in Today, Tomorrow & Forever: A Tribute to Patsy Cline features a live band, tight harmonies and a powerhouse singer. In this tribute, you'll learn a little bit about Katie, a little bit about Ms. Patsy, and a lot about why Patsy’s music is loved by so many. While there will only ever be one Patsy Cline, Katie Deal sure does play a mean second fiddle.

Katie has traveled the country wowing fans with her uncanny portrayal of Ms. Patsy Cline. With two sell-out national tours and numerous productions in Georgia, Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming, Katie has procured a national following. Katie is no stranger to The Grand Theatre stage having performed to a sold out house in 2004.

The Atlanta Pops return for this year's holiday concert on Saturday, December 14th. The Pops, established by Albert Coleman in 1945, has built a reputation for being energetic and professional. This family friendly event is the perfect way to ring in the holiday season. Come join us for this Cartersville tradition and share in some holiday cheer.

Nashville based bluegrass band, The SteelDrivers make their Grand Theatre debut on Saturday, February 7th. A group of seasoned veterans –each distinguished in his or her own right, each valued in the town’s commercial community – who are seizing an opportunity to follow their hearts to their souls’ reward. In doing so, they are braiding their bluegrass roots with new threads of their own design, bringing together country, soul, and other contemporary influences to create an unapologetic hybrid that is old as the hills but fresh as the morning dew. This is new music with the old feeling. SteelDrivers fan Vince Gill describes the band’s fusion as simply "an incredible combination."

Since 2008, The SteelDrivers have been nominated for three Grammys, four IBMA awards and the Americana Music Association’s New Artist of the Year. They were presented the International Bluegrass Music Association’s award for Emerging Artist of the Year in 2009. They have been invited to perform on numerous radio and TV shows ranging from The Grand Ole Opry to NPR’s Mountain Stage to the Conan O’Brien show.

If you came to the Grand to see comedian Jon Reep in 2013, then you already know why he is coming back so soon. He returns on Saturday, March 7th, after a fast sellout his first time here. Jon Reep is a nationally touring stand-up comedian and actor.  His authentic point of view is a result of being born and raised in rural Hickory, NC. He lived there until he moved to Raleigh, NC in 1992 to attend North Carolina State University.  Shortly thereafter he began performing stand-up comedy at Goodnights comedy club. He graduated from NCSU in 1997. . In 2000, Jon was invited to perform at the Montreal Just for Laughs festival, and shortly thereafter moved to Los Angeles, CA to further his career as a stand-up comedian and actor.

As a comedian he was the Winner of NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” season 5. He’s been on Comedy Central’s “Premium Blend”, the half-hour special “Comedy Central Presents: Jon Reep”, & his own special “Jon Reep: Metro Jethro”. He’s been on TBS’s “Pit Stop Comedy”, NBC’s “Late Friday” or CMT’s “Comedy Club” & “Comedy stage” among others.

As an actor Jon has played the pot smoking farmer “Raymus” from the movie “Harold and Kumar escape from Guantanamo Bay”, and the dim witted cop Gerald Bob from the ABC Sitcom “Rodney”. He played a goodwill worker in Disney Channels “Good Luck Charlie” and was the HEMI guy in Dodge Truck’s popular ad campaign.

The series concludes on Saturday, April 18th with Doug Stone. Born in Newnan, Georgia’s Doug is a contemporary country star who found his mark in music as a lonesome baritone balladeer. He has been performing nearly all his life, and at age seven he opened for Loretta Lynn. He debuted on the charts in 1990 with the single, “I’d Be Better Off (In a Pine Box),” the first release from his 1990 self-titled debut album. Stone has charted twenty-two singles on Hot Country Songs, with his greatest chart success coming between 1990 and 1995. In this time span, he charted four Number Ones: “In a Different Light”, “A Jukebox and a Country Song”, “Too Busy Being in Love”, and “Why Didn’t I think of That”, and eleven more Top Ten singles.

Doug is keeping the roads hot with concerts all over the United States. Since mid 2012 Doug has performed in over 150 shows, and he makes his Grand Theatre debut as one of our most requested artists. While many other artists have performed acoustic concerts in the series, Doug is bringing the whole band with him when he comes to Cartersville.
