Celebrate Goodwill Week: May 4 - 8

May 4th – 8th is Goodwill Week, the time of year when Goodwill agencies across the country plan events to celebrate our mission. We have created special hiring and job-preparation events during this week to help our clients get closer to permanent, meaningful employment.
All employers and community partners interested in participating in the May 6th job fair being held in Cartersville should simply fill out the attached registration form. During this week we will be giving out various prizes and providing food and snacks to our customers. If you are interested in sponsoring any of the events by providing prizes or food, please contact James Benham at (770) 276-7036. Gift cards and promotional items would be great to donate for the prizes. Food trays, boxed lunches, and pizza would be greatly appreciated for the food. Please help us make this an incredible week!
Monday, May 4, 10:00am - Goodwill Orientation: The Power Behind A Donation
Learn the history of Goodwill and all of the FREE services available to our customers. Hear the simple but powerful story of how donations fund these services. Have questions on a class you see on the calendar? At the end receive feedback on how to get the most out of YOUR Goodwill Career Center. *Prizes will be available*
Tuesday, May 5, 12:00pm - Lunch & Learn
Demetrice Straws, Director of United Medical and Business Institute, will be speaking on her personal story of overcoming obstacles she faced throughout life and how you can overcome your obstacles in finding employment and everyday life. Free lunch will be provided. Limited space. Those interested must register for this event.
Wednesday, May 6, 10:00am - 12:30pm - Recruitment Fair/Best Dressed Day
Multi-employer job fair featuring over 15 employers on-site ready to discuss all of their available openings. Prizes will be given out to the best dressed job seeker.
Thursday, May 7, 3:00pm - LinkedIn Lounge
LinkedIn is an easy way to network with professionals and gain better job opportunities. On May 7th, learn how to master LinkedIn from a social network professional.
Friday, May 8, 9:00am – 4:00pm - Customer Appreciation Day
Refreshments and raffle drawings for our job seekers throughout the day.
