Saturday May 30th- Cartersville Farmer’s Market Kick-off & Plant Sale

CARTERSVILLE- The Cartersville Farmer’s Market kick-off day and plant sale will be Saturday May 30th, starting at 7 AM. The Cartersville Farmer’s Market will be open every Wednesday from 5 PM to 8 PM and every Saturday from 7 AM to 12 PM in the Founder’s Oak Parking Lot (across from City Hall) through September 30th. The Market will feature a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, jams and jellies, local honey, fresh flowers, crafts, and much more. “We are very excited that Berry College Jersey Milk Cheese will be offered at our Market several times throughout the season this year”, said Special Events Coordinator Hollie Duncan.

For the 2015 season, the Cartersville DDA would love to get the community more involved in the Farmer’s Market. At least once a month, there will be some sort of added activity and/or entertainment. “We plan to have a Zucchini Festival on June 27th, a Tomato Festival on July 25th, and a Canning Demo on September 19th. On the evening of our August 7th First Friday, many of our Farmers Market vendors will participate in our “Buy Fresh Buy Local” event,” continued Duncan. You can stay up to date on these activities by checking the Cartersville Downtown Facebook page and website: www.downtowncartersville.org.

“There’s no better way to strengthen your local community than to shop and eat locally! By visiting the Cartersville Farmer’s Market, you support our local famers as well as businesses and community members.  Also, you support yourself by providing healthy and fresh food for you and your family. We hope to see you and your loved ones on Kick-off day, Saturday May 30th, 7 AM to 12 PM.”
