CARTERSVILLE-BARTOW COUNTY EXCHANGE CLUB CHRISTMAS PARADE LESS THAN THREE WEEKS AWAY

CARTERSVILLE, GA-NOVEMBER 13, 2015
: In less than three weeks Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus will be riding their sleigh through the streets of downtown Cartersville for the annual Cartersville-Bartow County Cartersville Exchange Club Christmas Parade.

The parade will take place on Thursday, December 3, 2015, 6:00pm with line up beginning at 4:00pm. Weather permitting, the Budweiser Clydesdales will be returning as participants in the parade. “The Clydesdales are a wonderful addition to the parade and everyone is excited to have them as part of the parade including children, adults and Exchange Club members”, said Kevin Cooney, Parade Chair for event.

The parade is the largest in Northwest Georgia with over 100 floats annually.  It is led off by members of the Exchange Club in the “Bucket Brigade” collecting donations from the crowd for local charities.  Following closely behind will be Santa and Mrs. Claus who look forward to the parade each year as they talk with kids, big and small, finding out what is on their Christmas wish list and reminding them to be good all year long.

One change this year is the early deadline of November 20, 2015 for parade entries. In order to ensure all entries have their parade registration information in advance of the parade, the Exchange Club is asking all interested in participating to have their application and fee turned in by November 20, 2015. There will be an additional $50.00 fee for any applications turned in after November 20, 2015.

Having safety serve as their number one priority, the Club strongly encourages parents and participating organizations to have a drop-off site for participants and float riders at a different location away from the line-up area at Tabernacle Baptist.

All money raised from entry fees and the Bucket Brigade goes directly to four local children-related charities here in Bartow County.   Each year, the Exchange Club is able to donate almost $20,000.00 to Advocates for Children, the Boys and Girls Club of Bartow County, Etowah Scholarship Foundation and the Bartow Christmas Coalition thanks to the participation and support of the annual parade.

Entry applications and information about the logistics of the parade are available at the Exchange Club Website: www.cartersvilleexchange.com Those with questions, may call Exchange Club Treasurer, Josh Brock, 770.608.7009
