About Us:

Aromatic Fragrances International LLC (AFI) is a leading fragrance manufacturing company located in Cartersville, Georgia. Established in 2013 by industry visionaries, we are dedicated to helping businesses of all sizes create strong emotional connections with their customers through innovative and high-quality scents. Our fragrances are designed to enhance a wide range of products, including soaps, candles, body oils, cleaners, and more, giving our clients a distinctive market advantage. At AFI, we pride ourselves on being bold, inventive, and confident in our ability to meet all your fragrance needs! Now, we’re looking for a transformational leader who can take us there.

Position Summary

As General Manager, you will join the executive team and have direct oversight of Production, Shipping, and Quality Control. This is a mission-critical role where your leadership will directly shape AFI’s ability to scale, meet customer demand, and position the company as a global fragrance leader. You won’t just run operations — you’ll build them for the future. Using the OGSM (Objectives, Goals, Strategies, Measures) framework, you’ll drive alignment, implement lean systems, and lead cross-departmental excellence. The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, preferably in the fragrance, chemical, or related industries. This role is ideal for a leader excited to take a fast-growing, custom manufacturing operation to the next level — optimizing efficiency, scaling output, and elevating AFI to a global fragrance leader. This role reports directly to the Senior VP of Operations.

Key Responsibilities-

Strategic Leadership

  • Lead the development and execution of operational strategies aligned with company-wide goals using the Objective Goals Strategies Measures (OGSM) model.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable plans across Production, Quality Control, and Shipping.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to ensure organizational alignment and efficiency.

Operations Management

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, adherence to production schedules, and reduce shipment times.
  • Lead and support department heads in Production, Shipping & Logistics, and Quality Control.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
  • Utilize lean methodologies to identify 5S improvements, streamline workflows between departments, and enhance operational efficiency.

Quality & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and industry regulations to maintain the highest fragrance product standards.
  • Ensure all products meet internal quality standards and regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., IFRA, ISO, GMP).
  • Establish and maintain robust QA/QC systems to minimize product variability and maximize customer satisfaction.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, mentor, and develop department heads and their teams.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Build succession pipelines and ensure staffing is aligned with throughput needs.

Budget & Resource Management

  • Manage departmental budgets, optimize resource allocation, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Monitor KPIs and operational metrics, reporting results to executive leadership.
  • Execute sales and operational planning skills using Just in Time (JIT) methodology in a highly customized marketplace.
  • Manage throughput and rate of operation calculations in regard to labor staffing needs.

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing (fragrance, chemical, cosmetics, or related industries strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record managing multi-functional operations including production, quality control, and distribution center management.
  • Hands-on experience implementing the OGSM framework– must be able to implement and manage strategic plans using OGSM frameworks (required).
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing best practices, lean principles, 5S, and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
