Job Description
General Manager Restaurants
Reports to: General Manager
Responsible for: Restaurants – Woodlands Grill, Beer Garden and Rice House
Liaises with: Executive Team, Conference Services, Sales, Restaurant team members, HR
Scope and General Purpose:
Directs and supervises all aspects of Restaurants operations, ensuring quality of food and service. Controls and analyzes the financial position of all Food & Beverage outlets, including a la carte dining and Catering services as required.
Essential Duties:
  • Work closely with the management team to develop all Restaurant operations programming.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of Standard Operating & Service Procedures for restaurant, room service and bar staff in collaboration with the Restaurant management team.
  • Establish and ensure implementation of cleaning and sanitation procedures for restaurants and storage areas. Assures that local and state requirements are met with regards to food handling permits, alcohol server training and other health department requirements.
  • Oversees all aspects of training and orientation for the Food & Beverage - Restaurants teams.
  • Oversees all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the department, including cleanliness & sanitation, inventory control and par stock management.
  • Maintain high level of service and product quality with exceptional guest service satisfaction.
  • Prepare sales reports showing sales volume, revenue potential etc.
  • Monitors sales performance of restaurants outlets and takes supportive and corrective action when needed.
  • Responsible for the selection, hiring, training and supervision of all Restaurant staff and management.
  • Create budgets and forecasts, monthly and annually.
  • Analyze and take responsibility for the financial performance of the division; controlling costs by adhering to standards of operations for forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, payroll control and other expense management systems
Secondary Duties
  • Work in conjunction with sales and marketing to develop and implement promotional programs aimed at resort guests and local community.
  • Encourage proactive, efficient and effective inter-departmental communication in order to promote a climate of teamwork and enthusiasm.
  • Build and maintain highly interactive, service-oriented business relationships with suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain open and engaging relationships with other departments.
  • Stay attentive to market trends in culinary arts, beverages and service styles in order to induce creativity in the operation
  • To attend Management Meetings as required
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Business Management is an asset but is not required
  • Extensive experience in restaurant and bar management required
  • Experience overseeing multiple outlets required
  • Excellent communicator and strong negotiator, both written and verbal
  • Result driven, well-organized and detail oriented
  • Experienced in developing and implementing quality assurance programs of the highest level
  • Outstanding team leader, ability to build and motivate a cohesive team
  • Self-directed, enjoys challenges, upbeat and outgoing
  • Calm and courteous in demanding situations, must enjoy working with people
  • Must be able to maintain a flexible work schedule, including evenings, nights and weekends
Physical Demands
Essential duties require long periods of standing or sitting, hearing, speaking, reading from a computer screen and keyboarding. The employee must have normal vision (corrected) including close and color vision, hearing and verbal communication.
Environmental Conditions
Duties are typically performed in an indoor setting; however duties may periodically take place out of
