Job Summary
This Operations and Support Specialist provides comprehensive administrative, operational, and client support services for the Information Technology Division by coordinating front-office functions, supporting procurement and budget processes, managing communications and workflow activities, and serving as a customer-focused resource for faculty, staff, students, and guests seeking technology assistance.
Responsibilities
- Supports the mission, vision, and values of the institution and complies with applicable college, USG, state, federal, and accreditation requirements.
- Coordinates and performs purchasing, procurement, and payment processes for the Division of Information Technology (IT) in accordance with institutional policies and procedures.
- Assists the Chief Information Officer and Information Technology leadership with budget administration activities, including expenditure tracking, reconciliation, reporting, documentation, and maintenance of financial records.
- Coordinates with the Business Office to maintain accurate purchasing documentation.
- Maintains technology asset management records for IT, including device inventories, equipment assignments, software licensing records, warranties, surplus processes, and lifecycle replacement tracking.
- Serves as the primary front-desk contact for the IT; answers telephone calls, responds to email inquiries, greets visitors, and provides information and assistance to faculty, staff, students, and guests.
- Provides first-tier help desk support by assisting users with basic IT troubleshooting, including account access issues, password resets, multifactor authentication (MFA) updates, software updates, browser-related problems, and service request intake and routing.
- Monitors, routes, and tracks service requests to ensure timely communication and resolution by appropriate IT staff.
- Prepares and maintains reports, spreadsheets, correspondence, presentations, and other administrative and operational documents.
- Assists with research, data gathering, project coordination, and other initiatives within the Division of Information Technology.
- Maintains a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and customer service in all interactions.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Relevant education and experience, which is defined as:
-Associate's degree in a related field and one year of relevant experience; or
-High school diploma/GED and three years of directly related experience; or
-An equivalent combination of related education, industry certifications, and directly related experience.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Authorized to work in the United States.
- Ability to maintain reliable transportation to report to assigned work locations, including occasional travel to other college campuses or work-related sites as required.
- This position requires a GHC purchasing card which requires a credit check to receive and continue holding a purchasing card.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting purchasing, accounts payable, budget tracking, or procurement processes, including quotes, purchase orders, invoices, and working with vendors to receive documentation.
- Experience working in an information technology, higher education, or technology service environment.
- Demonstrated familiarity with common information technology terminology, hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity concepts.
- CompTIA A+ certification or equivalent technical certification.
Proposed Salary
The starting salary for this position is $52,118 annually.

- Skill in providing exceptional customer service and communicating effectively both orally and in writing.
- Ability to collaborate effectively, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
