This part-time position is responsible for providing financial aid counseling services to current, incoming, and prospective students on the GHC Douglasville location.

Key Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a Baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years (experience in Higher Education desired)
• Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver’s license for the type of vehicle or equipment operated

Key Responsibilities

• Counsels and answers questions, inquiries, or requests from students, parents, or guardians concerning financial aid programs, application procedures, financial planning, eligibility, and other information as needed
• Conducts Presentations at events such as Orientations, Preview Days, High School FAFSA Nights, College Nights, Study Abroad Workshops, and other events as needed
• Provides financial aid representation in various capacities on assigned campus and/or other campuses as needed
• Assists with answering financial aid inquiries in person, through the GHC411 Ticketing System, and through the phone queue (incoming/outgoing calls)
• Handles financial aid programs as assigned
• Occasional evening work as needed
• Performs related duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of Federal, State, and Institutional policies and procedures related to student financial aid
• Knowledge of program eligibility requirements
• Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs
• Skill in the provision of customer service
• Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions
• Skill in oral and written communication
