This position performs accounting duties in support of college operations.

Key Qualifications

• Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with the completion of a baccalaureate degree in a course of study related to the occupational field or equal relevant experience.
• Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years

Key Responsibilities

• Regularly performs review and audit of travel in compliance with Board of Regents Policy and State Policy
• Assists with general ledger maintenance
• Prepares journal entries, cash, and inter-fund transfer
• Serves as a backup for accounts payable process
• Reconciles assigned accounts and generates periodic reports
• Performs reconciliation of student receivable accounts
• Works with business office staff to verify the status of third party billings
• Recommends procedures for increased efficiency and accuracy
• Assists with year-end general ledger closing procedures
• Maintains invoicing, reporting, and reconciliation of grants
• Maintains college unclaimed property account and ensures compliance with state unclaimed property requirements
• Maintains college’s athletic department account in relation to revenue, budget, and student financial activity with scholarships, housing, and meal plans
• Reconciles and submit international tax forms – 1042 – in compliance with federal guidelines
• Reconciles and submit sales tax to the State Department of Revenue in compliance with state guidelines
• Assists with year-end general ledger closing procedures
• This role is designed by the institution as a Position of Trust
• Performs related duties
