Sep 1 How to Turn Frustration Into Delight
How to Turn Frustration into Delight

Every day businesses frustrate their customers and employees. Unfortunately, a lack or recognition of this frustration and the inability to respond proactively cost businesses in terms of employee output, customer satisfaction, loyalty and ultimately - productivity and profitability. Participants will receive a detailed 24-page report (compiled from a pre-program assessment) that will allow them to understand their preferences in the area of customer service, communication, motivation, and management style.

The program consists of a half-day session during which participants will be actively engaged in the learning process. Participants will both experience the different ways the four interaction styles solve problems and address challenges. During the program, participants will:

  • Learn how not to alienate 2/3 of your customers and employees.
  • Understand the 4 Steps to 'Turn Frustration into Delight'.
  • Create action plans for communicating and selling to every employee, customer and client.
  • Learn the keys to motivate, manage and communicate with your team.

Sep 4 First Friday Pub Crawl
September First Friday in Downtown Cartersville

CARTERSVILLE - The Cartersville Downtown Development Authority is getting ready for their September First Friday event. The theme for this month is Fall Crawl in Downtown Cartersville!  Lots of shops and restaurants will be open until 8 PM or later, many of which will be offering great deals and discounts.

Cartersville DDA has organized a Pub Crawl for the September First Friday beginning at 5 PM, sponsored by Xpress Taxi. This is going to be the largest Downtown Cartersville Pub Crawl to date. For $30, participants will receive a t-shirt (which must be worn the evenings of the event) and a ticket to present to each participating restaurant for a free beer. Some of the participating venues will be providing specials and features, so be sure to support them and remember to take care of the servers and bartenders. Because seven restaurants are participating, the DDA has decided to make this a two-day event, extending the pub crawl through Saturday, beginning at 5 PM. This will allow participants to take their time and visit all of the restaurants on the crawl.

“It is so wonderful to see more and more businesses want to participate in our First Friday events and help bring people to Downtown Cartersville” says Special Events Coordinator Hollie Duncan. “We are very excited about the September First Friday Fall Crawl and expect it to be a sold out event.”

Participating Restaurants include:
Ate Track Bar & Grill
Appalachian Grill
Jefferson’s Restaurant
Mellow Mushroom
Primo’s Cocina Mexicana
The City Cellar & Loft
The Local Bar & Grill

T-shirts and tickets are available for reservation now. Call (770) 607-3480 or email hduncan@downtowncartersville.org to reserve yours today. Cash, money order, or check will be accepted as payment prior to receiving your t-shirt and ticket at the Downtown Cartersville Train Depot. Participants must be 21 years of age or older. Everyone is asked to please drink responsibly. For any additional questions, please visit the Cartersville Downtown Facebook page or website: http://downtowncartersville.org/events/.

Sep 16 Bartow History Museum: Documents of Freedom
Joe Head to Discuss Documents of Freedom

The Bartow History Museum welcomes Joe Head to the upcoming Lunch & Learn program on Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Head will discuss some of this country’s formative documents and the role of the penmen who created them in a program he calls “The pen is mightier than the sword.”

This program coincides with the nationally recognized Constitution Week, which honors America’s most important document. Constitution Week was the result of a petition to Congress made by the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1955. Among the aims creating this annual recognition was the encouragement to study the events that led to the framing and writing of the U.S. Constitution in September 1787.

Head will take a look at the Constitution and other important national documents while discussing their significance and how calligraphy was the tool used to deliver the concepts of freedom.

Lunch & Learn will take place on September 16, at noon. Guests are invited to bring a lunch and the doors will open at 11:45 a.m. The Bartow History Museum is located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville. The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members. For more information on this and other BHM programs, call 770-382-3818, ext. 6288 or visit our website at www.bartowhistorymuseum.org.
