Payroll Explanations & Labor Laws
Presented by Amanda Cash with Freeman, Mathis & Gary LLP
Sponsored by Freeman, Mathis & Gary LLP

Friday, August 18, 2017, 11:30 AM - 1:00 PM
Cartersville-Bartow Chamber, Anheuser-Busch Community Room

Employers face challenges every day in complying with the web of wage and hour laws that govern their treat of employees. As running afoul of wage and hour regulations can be very costly, even for those employers with the best intentions, employers must ensure that their wage and hour policies and procedures are compliant with the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act as well as state wage/hour statutes.

During this seminar we will discuss some of the common mistakes employers make in paying their employees including:
  • The misclassification of an individual as an exempt employee
  • Taking improper deductions from an exempt employee's salary
  • Failing to pay hourly employees for all hours worked
  • Reducing the hourly wage of hourly employees to below minimum wage
  • Failing to implement a comprehensive Wage and Hour Policy

Please register online prior to the event.  Lunch from Moe's Southwest Grill will be provided at no charge courtesy of our sponsor, Freeman, Mathis & Gary, LLP.
