Name: Potions, Powders, and Polymers Camp (for rising 3rd-6th graders)
Date: July 11, 2022 - July 15, 2022
Event Description:
Is it science or magic? During this week-long summer camp, students will have a blast as they make crazy chemical concoctions that go Bop! Bang! and Boom!

GHC professors and local K-12 educators will facilitate all program modules that reinforce and supplement the Georgia Standards of Excellence for science. Students will learn to recognize physical versus chemical reactions and mix up a few reactive ingredients for some sensational results. They will create erupting foam monsters, conduct amazing air pressure experiments, and make candles, bath bombs, and soaps. They will determine the identities of mystery powders, create bouncing polymer balls, make ooey gooey Oobleck, and explore the properties of silly slime.

Finally, this camp will introduce students to the science behind their favorite magic tricks like defying gravity, creating visual illusions, producing color-changing liquids, and more. Students should be ready to test, move, shake, drop, throw, challenge, and grow through this super fun chemistry camp!
