June First Friday in Downtown Cartersville
CARTERSVILLE – The theme for the Downtown Cartersville June First Friday event (June 6th) is Downtown Luau. School is out and so is the sun, come join us in Downtown Cartersville for some Luau fun!
The Downtown Luau will take place at Friendship Plaza, next to the Downtown Depot, from 5 PM to 8 PM. The Tom and Chad Show will provide us with music from 6 PM to 8 PM. There will be all sorts of fun activities for the kids; including a Hula Hoop Contest, the LIMBO, a coloring contest, and sidewalk chalk fun. Come hungry; the E. Street Tavern will be set up at Friendship Plaza selling delicious food options, and Coconuts will be serving sweet frozen treats!
Before you make your way over to join in on the Luau Fun, make sure to stop by a few of our Downtown Shops and Restaurants! “You will know which downtown merchants are staying open late for the First Friday event by the festive pink Flamingo outside of their store,” says Special Events Coordinator Catherine Woods. “There is no cost for this event; it is such a great opportunity to get your family out of the house and enjoy your Friday evening together in Downtown Cartersville.”
The Cartersville Downtown Development Authority is also offering an extra incentive for patrons that shop or dine at any downtown business on the First Friday in June. Pick up a Flamingo Punch Card at any participating downtown business (or at the depot); for every $10 spent at a downtown business that day, your name will be entered to win a Summer Gift Basket valued at $250.
