Name: FamilySearch 'Best Practices' @ Cartersville Library
Date: July 13, 2019
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
The FamilySearch Family Tree differs from other online Trees because it is a single tree, not a collection of private user trees, and it can be edited by anyone.  This class will put to rest some of the most common fears and frustrations in using FamilySearch.org by teaching best practices to reduce duplication of effort and to enhance search results. The class will be part direct instruction and part workshop, including tips on searching unindexed records. Class members are encouraged to bring laptops.

Presented by Marilyn Cranford. Marilyn is currently serving as a Family History Center Director in the Powder Springs Georgia Family History Center. During the early development of the FamilySearch Family Tree, she served for two years in the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.  Marilyn is a retired high school English teacher.
