Event Description:
Come explore the trails at the Preserve! Three trails offer options for hiking (.25 mi to 1.75mi), all around or near the 10-acre lake. You can bring a picnic lunch to enjoy at the Lake Pavilion or at the Learning Shed. Bring family, friends, or even your leashed dog. Open 10 am - 5 pm
 
Hiking is on your own, but a Preserve educator will be onsite to answer questions and provide educational tools for you to take on the trail. Check out guidebooks, interactive learning tools, or kid’s Adventure Backpacks to use during your visit.Admission is $3 per person/maximum $10 per family, free to Preserve members.
 
This month's program emphasis: Tree Detective.  Guidebooks will be available to take on the trail & posters at the Learning Shed will help you learn to identify common species of native trees. The Preserve also has over 50 tree ID stations on the trails to help you immediately identify common species. Kids will make leaf rubbings that identify leaf characteristics. Adventure Backpacks available for ages 3-11 to take on the trail to make learning fun and interactive. Crafts and activities available at Learning Shed at beginning/end of trail.
 
Hike Only Saturdays are part of our program of monthly access to the Preserve on the 2nd Sat of each month

Located off Hwy 61 between Cartersville & Dallas. 
For GPS enter "Douthit Bridge Rd, Dallas, GA" and then follow signs.
