Join Dr. Jennifer Dickey, history professor at Kennesaw State University, and Kathryn Graham, educator at the Bartow History Museum, as they present their new book There’s Lots to See in Georgia: A Guide to Georgia’s State Historic Sites. This comprehensive guide takes readers through Georgia’s 16 state-owned historic sites, covering over 1,500 years of history—from Native American settlements and colonial landmarks to Civil War sites and a presidential retreat. Dr. Dickey and Graham will discuss the significance of these sites, the preservation efforts, and the stories they reveal about Georgia’s rich past. About Dr. Jennifer Dickey Dr. Jennifer Dickey is a professor of history at Kennesaw State University and coordinates the museum, history, and public programs. She previously served as the campus preservationist at Berry College and continues to work as a preservation consultant. With experience at the National Park Service and Georgia’s Historic Preservation Division, Dr. Dickey is the author of A Tough Little Patch of History: “Gone with the Wind” and the Politics of Memory and coauthor of Memories of the Mansion: The History of Georgia’s Governor’s Mansion. She resides in Atlanta.
