The new book The Cowboy President reveals how Theodore Roosevelt's time spent in the Western Dakota Territory helped him recover from an overwhelming personal loss, but more importantly, how it transformed him into the man etched onto Mount Rushmore. In conjunction with the Remington exhibition, author Michael F. Blake will present a lecture-performance titled, "Theodore Roosevelt's West", where Michael becomes the 26th U.S. President right in front of the audience. This presentation highlights Roosevelt’s adventures in the Dakota Territory, his passion for conservation, how the land and the people of the West greatly influenced him for the rest of his life, and the unlikely bond between Theodore Roosevelt and Frederic Remington.
Limited seating available – first come first served. Program included with museum admission.
