CANCELLED: Lunch + Learn: Earth Day Time Capsule

Let’s communicate with the future and learn about the past! To celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day, Director of Education Cantey Smith will share the history of Earth Day. Then we will will gather the items that you bring* to place in our time capsule. Tellus will provide an archival paper note card and permanent markers for you to leave your personal message to future generations. The time capsule will be archived in our library. It will be opened on April 22, 2026 – the next Earth Day Lunch + Learn! *If you choose to bring an item, it must be non-perishable, and very compact (no larger than a baseball). The Lunch + Learn lecture begins at 12:15 PM. No outside food is allowed but you are welcome to buy lunch in the Café and bring it into the lecture, or just come hear the lecture. All Lunch + Learns are FREE for members and included in regular admission for non-members. Presentations are recommended for ages 8 and up, unless otherwise indicated. From fossils to stars, Lunch and Learn features a wide variety of topics.
