The Bartow Winds Community Concert Band announces their 8th annual Celebration of Independence program to be held on Sunday, July 3rd. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. This year’s concert will be held at Faith United Methodist Church located at 501 Grassdale Road in Cartersville. The concert will be held in the field behind the church. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and water. (In case of rain, the concert will moved inside the church.) Admission is free, but donations will be accepted in support of local charities.
The concert will feature a wide variety of patriotic music, concluding with John Phillips Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”. After the concert stay and watch the fireworks from the Cartersville Country Club!
The Bartow Winds Community Concert Band is a non-profit organization founded in the spring of 2009 as both an outlet for local musicians and a way to raise funds for charities. Its members range in age from high school and college students to adults. Bartow Winds is under the direction of Michael D. Elzey, with assistance and support from area band directors.
