Hear Michael Shaffer February 23, 2017 at the Bartow History Museum


Historian, Michael Shaffer, will be at the Bartow History Museum on February 23 at 7 p.m. to present, Technology in the Civil War. The American Civil War brought out the best creative minds, North and South, as each side adopted new technology in their quest for victory. Shaffer will discuss the military use of aeronautics, submersibles, the telegraph, and more. Join us for this lecture. It is free for members of the museum and included in the price of admission to the museum for non-members.

About the Speaker
Michael K. Shaffer, a Civil War historian, author, newspaper columnist, instructor, and frequent lecturer remains a member of the Society of Civil War Historians, Historians of the Civil War Western Theater, and Georgia Association of Historians. He serves as a Civil War consultant for the River Line Historic Area and the Friends of Camp McDonald. Shaffer holds BA and MA degrees, with honors, in Military History, and currently teaches Civil War courses at Kennesaw State University's College of Continuing and Professional Education.
