On Thursday, May 28, at 7:00 p.m., Bartow History Museum welcomes guest speakers Gary Ross and Travis Prestwood. Ross and Prestwood will speak about the history of the Allatoona community and the southeast corner of Bartow County.
For years, Ross and Prestwood have lived in the Allatoona area, studying its rich history and geology. What they have found in the southeast corner of Bartow County is a treasure trove of historical accounts, from Native Americans, original roads, gold and iron mining, the W&A railroad, the Civil War, and much more. The two will present these stories through old maps and photographs.
The Evening Lecture will take place at the Bartow History Museum located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville. Parking is available next to the building. The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members.
