Georgia's Historical Markers

Bartow History Museum welcomes David Seibert, researcher and historian, as speaker at the upcoming Lunch & Learn program on Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at noon.  Seibert's topic will be the historical marker program in Georgia, including a number of markers in Bartow County.

David Seibert has spent the past 40 years locating and documenting historical markers in Georgia.  The database created from this effort was published on the Internet by UGA's Carl Vinson Institute of Government, and has been adopted by the state’s GeorgiaInfo website.

His illustrated presentation will discuss the history of marker programs in the state, various types of markers and who has erected them, historic markers in Bartow County, and where Georgia’s marker programs stand today.

Lunch & Learn will take place on November 19, 2014, at noon, and guests are invited to bring a lunch.  Bartow History Museum is located at 4 E. Church Street in downtown Cartersville.  The lecture is free to members and included with the price of admission for not-yet members.  For more information on this and other BHM programs, call 770-382-3818, ext. 6288 or visit our website at www.bartowhistorymuseum.org
