Small-town Alabama, 1932. Atticus Finch is a lawyer and a widower. He has two young children, Jem and Scout. Atticus Finch is currently defending Tom Robinson, a black man accused of raping a white woman. Meanwhile, Jem and Scout are intrigued by their neighbours, the Radleys, and the mysterious, seldom-seen Boo Radley in particular.
Anyone trying out for the roles of Atticus Finch or Maudie Atkinson MUST come prepared with the required monologue memorized. All other roles will be auditioned by cold reading from the script. Auditioners for Atticus and Miss Maudie will also be involved in the cold readings, but performing the monologue is required. See our web site for the monologues.
