Time: 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
Our monthly support group is free and open to the public.  We appreciate RSVPs for the purpose of catering supper.
We invite you to follow our social media for updates on guest speakers.  The group is a venue for support, resources and information, for anyone dealing with dementia disease in their family, for caregivers or anyone wanting to learn more about dementia illness.  You are not alone ~

Our special guest speaker for March 12th, is Alzheimer's Disease Researcher, Robert B. Nelson, PhD.

Dr. Nelson is co-founder and VP of Biology at MindImmune Therapeutics, a biotech incorporated in 2016 to develop novel therapeutics targeting the immune system to treat Alzheimer’s disease. Across a 35-year career in the pharmaceutical industry, Bob has become a champion of the view that Alzheimer’s is an inflammatory disease that can be treated by blocking immune cells of a specific type from entering the brain, where they destroy the connections between brain cells (neurons) that enable us to think and form memories. MindImmune is currently seeking to advance into clinical trials a medicine that will prevent these immune cells from invading the brain of Alzheimer patients.
