The Big Chicken Chorus was formed in 1986, a male chorus that sings four part a cappella harmony in the style of the close harmony sung by Barbershop Quartets. The Big Chicken Chorus has fifty members that range in age from high school to late 80's. The Chapter has adopted an enthusiastic program that includes music education, participation in Society competitions, youth outreach, and service to community. As the name might suggest, they are serious about having fun and providing an element of laughter and joviality in every performance.

Over the years, the Big Chicken Chorus has entertained audiences at the Fabulous Fox Theatre, the Atlanta Civic Center, the Georgia Fine Arts Center, Symphony Hall, the Georgia Dome, the Georgia Pacific "Art in the Heart" series, the "Cobb County Jubilee Arts Alliance" series, the Robert Ferst Center at Georgia Tech, the Rialto Theatre, and all over the Southeast. The BCC has also performed for the Georgia Music Educators Association and for the IBM World Series Seminar in Atlanta.

The Chorus has also performed throughout the Southeast and in many of our nations’ largest cities, including: Anaheim, Denver, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Louisville, Miami, Nashville, New Orleans, Pittsburgh, Salt Lake City, and San Francisco. The Chorus has also performed in Calgary, Alberta and Montreal, Quebec, and in Harrogate, England, as the guest chorus for the British Association's national convention.

The Big Chicken Chorus is proud to be listed as a "Georgia Touring Artist" by the Georgia Council for the Arts (GCA), and is supported in part by appropriations of the Georgia General Assembly. GCA is a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, which believes that a great nation deserves great art.

Under the direction of Lars Grevstad, the future of the Big Chicken Chorus is bright, continuing the Chapter's proud tradition of pursuit of musical excellence and continuous improvement, all while keeping the Society's spirit of Brotherhood, Family, and Harmony alive and thriving!

The BCC includes men from many walks of life, to include business owners, retire military, politicians, financial consultants, first responders and many others.  That said, we all have one thing in common, we all share in the joy of singing, especially a cappella - four part harmony.

This Christmas performance will include all types of Christmas music, traditional classics like "Silent Night" and "Oh Holy Night", up-beat contemporary like "Marvelous Toy and "We Need A little Christmas" and even Christmas with a calypso beat in "The Virgin Mary Had A Baby Boy".  In addition to "The Big Chicken Chorus", the performance will include numbers from four barbershop quartets.

“Advocates for Children is extremely appreciative of the Big Chicken Chorus and their willingness to support our efforts through their talents,” said Karen White, Executive Vice President for Advocates. “It is because of groups like the BCC that we are able to provide programs and services at no charge to over 2,600 children and families each year,” said White.

Begin your Christmas season by enjoying wonderful holiday music while making a difference in the lives of children and families that need our help and support.
